October 2021 Meeting Minutes
October 14, 2021
Present: John Slaby, Chairman, Roy Boushon and Lee Lamoreaux, Town Supervisors. Jamie Soberg, Clerk/Treasurer absent.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Slaby at 7 pm.
Checks numbered 452-454, 18550– 18580 were signed by the board.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Slaby read the minutes from the Board Meeting held in September. Motion by Boushon/Lamoreaux to receive and place on file as read. Carried.
Treasurers report for the month of September is not available at this time.
The bids for the Price Lake Road Project were opened with A1 Excavating bidding $512,244.00 and Janak & Sons at $250,000.00 (estimated $50,207.50 per mile). A motion was made by Lamoreaux to accept the bid from Janak & Sons with a second from Boushon. Motion carried.
Slaby mentioned it would be good to get processor in to help with right-of-way clearing depending on available spending amount. Janak & Sons would be available.
Recycling will be tabled for a later time as Soberg is checking into recycling restrictions at the dump.
Slaby attended the LRIP Grant meeting. He reported that there are 5 other towns that are eligible for the grant if they have a project to submit. If they don’t, all other towns have the chance to submit a project for consideration. Slaby will put together a proposed project for about a half mile of Crane Chase Road off the intersection of South Fork, Crane Chase, and River Road to be dug up and blacktopped. Next meeting is November 3rd.
Slaby shared on the ambulance meeting he attended. Our share of costs for 2022 budget is $7,369.64, which is about $1500 more than last year because they are looking to acquire a new ambulance by January 2023. There is also concern with the Prentice ambulance service so it was agreed that Prentice will be billed $220 for every non-transported patient and $400 for every transported patient, as they have to travel about 50 miles to the nearest hospital.
There was a motion by Lamoreaux, second by Boushon, to sign the 2021 Resolution Establishing Wards. Motion carried.
A date to work on the proposed town budget for 2022 has been set for October 27th at 7 pm. The public hearing on the proposed 2022 town budget is set for November 11th at 7 pm with the regular monthly meeting to follow.
Public Comment – None
Motion by Boushon/Lamoreaux to adjourn. Carried.
Meeting adjourned at 8:00 pm.
