October 2019 Meeting Minutes

  • Present:  John Slaby, Chairman, Roy Boushon and Mike Galloway, Town Supervisors, and Jamie Soberg, Clerk/Treasurer.  
  • The meeting was called to order by Chairman Slaby at 7 pm.
  • Checks numbered 406-408, 17436 – 17465 were signed by the board.
  • Recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • Clerk read the minutes from the Board Meeting held in September.  Motion by Galloway/Boushon to receive and place on file as read.  Carried.
  • Soberg read the Treasurers report for the month of September.  Motion by Boushon/Galloway to receive and place on file as presented.  Carried.
  • There was discussion about plowing driveways for the upcoming winter season.  Motion by Galloway/Boushon to plow driveways with an increase in the rate from $18 to $25 for the first 15 minutes and more than 15 minutes at $35 and if there is no contract signed, we will not plow.
  • Slaby and Soberg attended the TRIP meeting.  Guidelines were given to the supervisors so they can look at what projects could be submitted for application at the November 7th meeting.
  • Slaby was asked by the County if the town would like to take over a couple forest roads; one being Fifield Road and the other Lugerville Grade Road.  He asked the supervisors to take a look at the roads and there will be a discussion at the next meeting.
  • A briefing on the Ambulance meeting was given by Slaby and costs will be less this year because we are no longer paying building rent to the fire department.
  • Boushon shared an update on the Price Lake Road project.  Janak said they will be starting October 28th weather permitting and work until hunting season.  There was discussion about what portion of road to start on.  We will try to haul if we can.
  • A special election for the Congressional District 7 to take place early next year, but dates are pending.
  • A date to work on the proposed town budget for 2020 has been set for October 29th at 7 pm.
  • The public hearing on the proposed 2020 town budget is set for November 14th  at 7 pm with the regular monthly meeting to follow.
  • Public Comment – Wayne Brecht asked if the town board gave permission for heavy equipment to cross over the snowmobile trail bridge because it was damaged.  Slaby commented that we did not.
  • Motion by Galloway/Boushon to convene into closed session. Carried.  Authority Wisc. State Statute 19.85(1)(c) to evaluate insurance report.
  • Attendees:  Chairman Slaby, Supervisors Galloway and Boushon, Clerk Soberg.
  • An insurance evaluation report was reviewed and discussed.
  • Motion by Boushon/Galloway to reconvene into open session. Carried.
  • Motion by Galloway/Boushon to adjourn.  Carried.
  • Meeting adjourned at 9:02 pm.
