The meeting was called to order by Chairman Slaby at 7 pm.
Checks numbered 432-434, 18297 – 18333 were signed by the board.
The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.
Clerk read the minutes from the Board Meeting held in January. Motion by Galloway/Boushon to receive and place on file as read. Carried.
Soberg read the Treasurers report for the month of January. Motion by Boushon/Galloway to receive and place on file as presented. Carried.
Therese and Maureen Trojak shared what the School Committee has done with the school over the last few years and also what their future plans hold. Some of these improvements were fixing rotten subfloors and foundation, installing new flooring, painting, having the septic tank pumped, electrical updates, removing the chimney, landscaping work, and recently drilling a new 66′ well. Since starting this committee 40 years ago, a total of $65,393 of improvements have been made to the Lugerville school. In 2021, the committee would like to make some improvements to the kitchen, have the old well removed, make bathrooms handicap accessible, and make one of the rooms a classroom. Slaby commented that the town is looking to update the hall and suggested the school committee and town board meet in early spring to discuss whether the school could be an option or not for a future town hall.
Slaby gave a briefing on the Fire Ad Hoc and Ambulance meetings. There is concern that the Phillips ambulance department is having to respond to calls that the Prentice ambulance is not responding to. There is discussion about charging for these calls as the Phillips ambulance would be unavailable for their own emergency calls. Also, the Director of the Phillips department, after doing some research, was able to get two defibulators for the ambulances for the price of one that was recommended to them.
Public Comment – There was discussion about snow removal by property owners.
Motion by Galloway/Boushon to adjourn. Carried.
Meeting adjourned at 7:56 pm.
