August 2019 Meeting Minutes

  • Present:  John Slaby, Chairman, Roy Boushon and Mike Galloway, Town Supervisors, and Jamie Soberg, Clerk/Treasurer.  
  • The meeting was called to order by Chairman Slaby at 7 pm.
  • Checks numbered 404, 1038 & 1039, 17379 – 17406 were signed by the board.
  • Recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
  • Clerk read the minutes from the Board Meeting held in July.  Motion by Boushon/Galloway to receive and place on file as read.  Carried.
  • Soberg read the Treasurers report for the month of July.  Motion by Galloway/Boushon to receive and place on file as presented.  Carried.
  • Slaby gave a briefing of the Ambulance Meeting attended.  Next meeting will be Oct 2 at 6:30 pm to plan budget.
  • The Fire AdHoc Meeting was attended by Slaby and he mentioned they bought a new brush truck.  Next meeting will be Oct 21 at 6 pm.
  • Slaby mentioned he found 3 possible grants for the town hall project that we may be able to apply for once we know what we are doing.
  • Well testing for salt contamination was completed for this year and levels continue to go down.
  • Rob Grisby reported on the progress of the road work that has been completed from the road inspection reports.
  • An approval was needed to purchase a new voting machine, but Soberg informed the board that she was notified by Jean Gottwald that the county will be purchasing one voting machine for each of the townships and there will be no cost to the municipality for this purchase.
  • Public Comment – Larry Weik and Doug Aubuchon inquired about applying for state grants 3-5 years ahead to help with road aid and to ask Chris Bender about it.  Weik mentioned a petition of Price Lake Road residents to make it a class B road.  There was discussion about parts of the road that need fixing and loggers traveling too fast and damaging the road.  Residents are encouraged to get vehicle info and report them to authorities if possible .  It was also suggested to possibly put something on the road to help with dust control.
  • Motion by Galloway/Boushon to adjourn.  Carried.
  • Meeting adjourned at 8:02 pm.
